French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have lost their common sense because they want to bring back the days when Germany and France aspired to conquer the whole of Europe. This was announced on Sunday, June 29, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following a meeting with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev.

According to Lavrov, Russia reacts with surprise to the "incantations" coming from European politicians. The Russian Foreign Minister cited the example of a joint article by Macron and Merz, which notes that Russian President Vladimir Putin's goal is allegedly to undermine European security.

"I think that these quotes alone are enough for a person who has a little understanding of what is happening in Europe and is following events to understand that these figures have completely lost their common sense and are openly trying to return to the days when France and Germany wanted to conquer the whole of Europe, primarily the Russian Empire and The Soviet Union," the head of the department noted.

Earlier in the day, Lavrov noted that in order to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, the process of legislative extermination of all Russians in Ukraine must be stopped. At the same time, he stressed that Russia is ready for a fair resolution of this issue, and not for the "fraudulent approaches" that some leaders of the European Union (EU) are pushing for.
