Employees of the Investigative Committee have completed the investigation of a criminal case in which a resident of the Kamchatka Territory was accused of illegal hunting and negligent homicide. This was reported on June 28 in the press service of the regional Investigative Committee.
"The investigation established that on April 18, the 65-year-old defendant, together with his 35—year-old son-in-law, carried out illegal hunting in the Goltsovka River area on a motorboat," the department's Telegram channel said.
At some point, the accused, aiming at a duck, accidentally shot his son-in-law, the Investigative Committee added. The wounded man died on the spot from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The criminal case was sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment. After that, he will be sent to court.
On June 26, it was reported that the police detained two participants in the shooting in the city of Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region. They were given a preventive measure in the form of detention for two months. A mass brawl with the use of weapons near one of the cafes in the Irkutsk region occurred on June 21. As a result of the incident, two people aged 39 and 46 were taken to a local hospital.
