Fico pointed out the ineffectiveness of the new EU sanctions against Russia

New anti-Russian sanctions from the European Union (EU) will prove ineffective. This was announced to reporters on June 27 by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

"Today, the 18th package of sanctions looks very "sexy" for everyone. Everyone talks about it a lot, it's important. I think expectations [from the new sanctions] are high, but they are no longer as effective as they have been with other restrictions so far," he said.

According to Fico, there is no reason to go back. He stressed that Slovakia is currently suffering from anti-Russian sanctions, in particular, on the issue of gas supplies.
