An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was recorded off the coast of the Philippines. This was announced on Saturday, June 28, by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

As noted, the tremors occurred 138 km east of the city of General Santos, where 679 thousand people live, and 72 km east of Sarangani with a population of 7.5 thousand.

After that, repeated tremors of magnitude 4.9 occurred. They were recorded 122 km east of General Santos at a depth of 88 km.

There was no information about casualties or damage.

On the same day, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was reported on the website of the Institute of Geophysics of Ecuador. Its source lay at a depth of 45.5 km and was located near the city of Naranjal in the province of Guayas.
