Israeli Defense Minister instructs army to prepare measures against Iran

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said on June 27 that he had instructed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to develop an action plan against Iran that provides for maintaining air superiority and measures to prevent Tehran's nuclear and missile development.

"I have instructed the Israel Defense Forces to prepare a plan of coercive measures against Iran, which includes maintaining Israel's air superiority, preventing [Iran's] nuclear development and missile production," Katz wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

In addition, the IDF should prepare measures against the Islamic Republic "for supporting terrorist activities" against Israel. The minister noted that Israel plans to work regularly to curb threats from Iran.

On June 24, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia intends to develop relations with Iran, and the two countries maintain partnership relations. He clarified that the Russian side had supported Iran and taken a clear position in the conflict between the Islamic Republic and Israel.
