An innovative swimming pool scene has grown up near the Hermitage, and Nevsky Prospekt has been decorated with flags. Preparations for the main alumni holiday, Scarlet Sails, are coming to an end in St. Petersburg.

How are the preparations for the main alumni holiday going?

Installing the pools this year proved to be a difficult task. For the first time, pools and fountains have been installed directly on the stage, which will "shoot" up with multi-meter jets of water during the show.

"Our pools are complex, they consist of three parts. In one part, there will be an ankle-deep ballet going down and dancing there to make splashes. The other part is reserved for the water theater: the girls will have to work right in the depths. We've been dreaming about water in the stage for many years, but it's only now that we've realized it. This is a technically very complicated story, because there is electricity, light, and people there," Maxim Akhtyamov, director of the concert part of the Scarlet Sails festival, shared with Izvestia.
