- The Russian Foreign Ministry warned about the consequences of the participation of third countries in the Tribunal of the Council of Europe and Kiev

Moscow will consider the accession of third countries to the legally insignificant tribunal of the Council of Europe (CE) and Ukraine as a hostile demarche. This was announced on June 26 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"We will regard the accession of any of the states to it as a hostile demarche reflecting the desire not to resolve, but to worsen the current crisis around Ukraine," she said at a briefing.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the Council of Europe was among the first to advocate the creation of "quasi-judicial mechanisms" aimed at the Russian Federation. She recalled that the Council of Europe does not have the appropriate authority to establish criminal courts and determine acts of aggression.
Zakharova noted that Moscow will take restrictive measures provided for by Russian legislation in relation to such "instruments of contract justice."
On May 22, Alexander Venediktov, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, said that the creation of a "tribunal" against Russia was an attempt to take money away from EU citizens. He added that the new tribunal will work in cooperation with the International Criminal Court (ICC), which, in his opinion, has long proved its inefficiency.
