Putin extended the right to deferral from conscription for Old Believers until 2030

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending until 2030 the deferral of conscription for compatriots from the Old Believers who have arrived from abroad for permanent residence in the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District. The document was published on June 26 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"To amend the decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated April 13, 2020 No. 256 "On granting Old Believers the right to receive a deferral from military service" <...> by replacing the words "in 2020-2025" with the words "In 2020-2030" in paragraph 1, the document says.
The deferral is granted to Old Believers who have obtained Russian citizenship and, at the request of the Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia of the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church, have moved from abroad. We are talking about an individual deferral from conscription.
The measure is aimed at supporting the repatriation of Old Believers and the development of the Far Eastern territories.
On April 21, Putin signed a law according to which members of volunteer formations who have participated in hostilities for six months are exempt from conscription. Separately, the law emphasized that Russian citizens who served in the armed forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) would be exempt from conscription. It was clarified that we are talking about those who took part in the fighting since May 11, 2014.
