The decision of the Iranian parliament to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is a warning signal to the organization not to be so politicized. This opinion was expressed by political scientist Stanislav Tarasov on Wednesday, June 25.

Earlier in the day, the Iranian parliament approved a bill to suspend cooperation with the IAEA, Regnum news agency reports.

Tarasov noted that the decision of the Iranian parliament was taken during a period of acute confrontation with the United States and Israel, but now the situation has somewhat defused. During the ceasefire, the parties will naturally move on to the negotiation process and it will be primarily about the nuclear program, he said.

"I think it's a warning signal from the IAEA that they should not be as politicized as they were before, that they should take constructive positions. This is still a tactical move. Although it is possible that under certain circumstances Iran will withdraw from the IAEA and other treaties. If such a decision is implemented, the Iranian parliament will aggravate relations with the United States and Israel," Tarasov said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

Earlier on June 25, the agency's Director General, Rafael Grossi, announced that Iran had notified the IAEA of taking measures to protect its enriched uranium reserves.

It is noted that in a letter sent by the Iranian side to the IAEA, it was stated that Iran had taken "special measures" to protect its nuclear materials and equipment. Grossi suggested that most of the supplies survived the attacks.

At the same time, he clarified that the main priority for the IAEA is the return of inspectors to Iran's nuclear facilities to assess the consequences of the US and Israeli strikes, as well as to check the stocks of enriched uranium.
