When decorating a veranda, it is first necessary to determine in what style it will be decorated. In addition, it is important to remember that the veranda is an extension to the house, so you should not install a barbecue there. Svetlana Kosareva, Hoff's chief designer, told Izvestia about this on June 26.

"I recommend considering two options — Provence or country. The first style is more elegant and sophisticated, characterized by light shades, floral motifs, ruffles, and mosaics. And the second one is more restrained and massive, it is characterized by an abundance of wood and stone, layering of textures," she noted.

The expert also recommended avoiding "chemistry". For example, according to her, it is better to cover wood not with varnish, but with stain, use less plastic, and, on the contrary, more fresh flowers and plants.

In addition, before you start arranging or remodeling the veranda, you need to determine its purpose. For example, you can have breakfast with the whole family or arrange evening gatherings with a large company, and its layout will vary from this.

"If you want everything at once, you need to provide for the zoning of the space. For example, in one part of the veranda you can put a large table with chairs, in the other — a set of rattan garden furniture for a quiet pastime to enjoy the sunset. Flowerpots are often used to zone the space. Pots with climbing flowers also look spectacular," the designer suggested.

The expert recalled that the veranda is an extension to the house, and urged not to arrange a barbecue on it. For these purposes, she explained, a separate zone is needed.

Kosareva recommended decorating the veranda in light shades — this way it will not look gloomy. However, bright accents won't hurt. In addition, textiles will look great: curtains, pillows and blankets. If the veranda is closed, it is quite possible to use cotton or linen fabrics, but in an open space it is worth choosing waterproof materials that will not deteriorate from moisture.

The dishes, the designer added, should also be selected in accordance with the chosen style. According to her, ceramics in pastel tones or with floral, but not flashy ornaments, are suitable for Provence. Country music is characterized by calm beige or milky shades, as well as bright decor in a sunny and orange palette.

The specialist emphasized that much of the design of the veranda depends on the lighting, it is not only an important element of the decor, but also affects the atmosphere and mood.

It is appropriate to hang a chandelier or a beautiful pendant above the dining area. The lighting can also be mounted in the floor, if possible. For example, you can hang a monophonic garland around the perimeter of the veranda, place lighting in flower pots, and place solar-powered lamps around it, which will look spectacular in the dark. The main thing is that the light should be warm, not cold.
