Final preparations are currently underway in St. Petersburg before the main summer fairy tale, the Scarlet Sails Alumni Festival. The artists hone the movements to perfection, and the technical team checks that everything works accurately. After all, it is on this that all the show's showiness and grandeur depend, for which he is so loved and expected.

One of the main surprises of Scarlet Sails 2025 is a truly daring and technically challenging experiment. For the first time, the artists of the water theater will perform on the Palace Square.

"This is only part of a large program, and we are now the first to see it. It is known that the artists will change their costumes several times a night, they will even perform in shoes, and the cameras will take them not only from the stage, but also underwater!" said Natalia Oskerko, a correspondent for Izvestia.

Despite the extensive experience of performing, this is also a completely new format for girls.

"Usually, the audience, if this is some kind of show or the same competition, they are a little higher up, but here, it turns out, the stage will be higher, and we will see all the viewers eye to eye. Therefore, we do not have such an experience yet, but we are preparing for it," said Anastasia Astakhova and Yana Vasilyeva, artists of the aquatic theater.

But hardly any of the stars have ever performed in a huge open window. This design does not have a single right angle. A complex cantilevered roof, multiple moving elements, and rotating screens.

"Synchronously, there will be some kind of motion effect on the videography, plus this movement will be enhanced by some kind of physical movement, screen movement, or U-turn. This system allows you to rotate the screen and move it along the guide," said Alexey Bulgakov, technical director of the concert section of the Scarlet Sails.

A window into history is a strong image, while simple and understandable to everyone.

"It probably symbolizes huge opportunities for all graduates, in order to enhance this image, we have come to a large volume of this decoration," says Nikolai Orlov, the production designer of the concert part of the Scarlet Sails.

The props are also impressive in size. Paper boats and a key element of the stage were made especially for the holiday: a huge bird with a wingspan of almost 10 m. She is already on her way: from Moscow to the Northern Capital. It will be installed or charged, as they say behind the stage, right during the concert.

"There are a lot of different objects moving before the bird, then the bird stands in the parking lot of the so-called. She will be hooked up, prepared, and her wings will be spread. And after that, the screens open at the command "Go!" and the bird flies out in all its glory," Bulgakov said.

And these are not all the surprises. Artists will congratulate graduates even from a height. So, the soloist of the chamber choir of the Mariinsky Theater will sing at a water-pyrotechnic show. Alexey Myagkov, a laureate of international competitions, "Petersburg baritone", said that he dreamed of performing on "Scarlet Sails".

"I tried to get through the casting four or five times to participate in this wonderful show, but only now I have the honor and great luck to participate in the graduation celebration," says Myagkov.

The correspondent noted that this year's water and pyrotechnic show will feature the best postcard views of the Northern Capital. For example, sites such as the Arrow of Vasilyevsky Island and the beach of the Peter and Paul Fortress are involved.

This year marks exactly 20 years since the Scarlet Sails holiday was revived on the initiative of ROSSIYA Joint Stock Bank, the government of St. Petersburg and Channel Five. A grandiose show full of beauty and deep meaning awaits graduates and viewers. In the year of Defender of the Fatherland, students will talk about the Victory of good over evil, self-confidence and love for the Motherland in the language of music.

And, of course, the main gift awaits the former schoolchildren: a symbol of youthful hopes and fulfillment of all desires — a snow-white brig under scarlet sails. The celebration will take place on Saturday, June 28.

On June 22, the Scarlet Sails holiday was held in Mariupol, where over a hundred former schoolchildren gathered. The culmination of the event was the passage of the snow-white yacht Assol under scarlet sails as a symbol of a bright future.
