The countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf have called for ensuring the security of the region's air and sea spaces and maritime trade routes amid the conflict between Iran and Israel. This was announced on Tuesday, June 24, in a statement following an emergency meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab countries.

The foreign ministers of the six Gulf countries held a meeting in Doha. There they discussed the consequences of Iran's strikes on the US airbase in Qatar.

"The Council of Ministers stressed the importance of maintaining the safety of the air, sea and waterways in the region and countering actions that threaten the security and stability of the region and the world," the document says.

The Ministers reaffirmed the countries' commitment to ensuring the stability of global energy markets.

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of an agreement related to a complete cease-fire between Israel and Iran. Iran later confirmed the truce. Peseshkian assured that the Iranian side would not abandon the cease-fire if Israel did not violate its terms.
