A man who threw a child on the floor at Sheremetyevo Airport has been charged with attempted murder. This was announced on Tuesday, June 24, by the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region in its Telegram channel.

"A 31-year—old foreign citizen has been charged with the attempted murder of a two-year-old child <...> (Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs "b, and" part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the ministry said in a statement.

As indicated, the man could not explain the reason for his action.

They added that interrogations of eyewitnesses are continuing, and all the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

In the near future, the investigation will petition the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention, the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region clarified.

On June 23, a man, being in the arrival area of the airport in a state of drug intoxication, grabbed a child and violently threw him to the floor. The boy was hospitalized, he is in serious condition. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.

On June 24, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Moscow region, Ksenia Mishonova, reported that doctors had not detected brain damage in the child. According to her, the boy is in stable condition. It will take at least a month to restore the child's health.
