The ceasefire between Israel and Iran will be temporary. Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed this opinion on Tuesday, June 24.

In his opinion, there are many points in the conflict between the two countries that can lead to a violation of the ceasefire.

"It seems unlikely to me that this will be done in such a situation, when there are a lot of points that can lead to a violation of these regimes. We know that before this announcement, the parties continued to strike at each other, so I think that for now it will also be a temporary cease—fire," Chepa said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The parliamentarian added that at the moment the results of the US attack on nuclear facilities in Iran are not very clear, as there are doubts that these facilities were completely destroyed. The MP stressed that the truce reached is positive news.

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of an agreement related to a complete cease-fire between Israel and Iran. He also called on the countries not to violate the truce. Iran later confirmed the truce.

On the same day, the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Peseshkian, said that Iran is ready to observe a truce with Israel if Tel Aviv complies with the ceasefire, RT reports.
