The IDF warned of a new phase of the campaign against Iran in the future
Israel's military campaign against Iran has not ended, and a new phase is ahead, but at the moment the military will return to combat operations in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on June 24 by the head of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Eyal Zamir.
"We have completed an important chapter, but the campaign against Iran is not over. We are moving on to a new chapter, which will be based on the achievements achieved in the current campaign," he is quoted as saying on the IDF website.
He added that now the attention of the Israeli army is again focused on Gaza — on the return of hostages and the overthrow of the Hamas government.
On June 24, Trump announced that the truce between Iran and Israel had entered into force. According to him, a "complete and total ceasefire" will first be announced for 12 hours, then the conflict will be considered over.
Later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded rocket launches from Iran after the ceasefire was announced. It is specified that a few hours after the missile hit Beersheba, additional launches from Iran were recorded in the northern region. Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz then stated that he had instructed the IDF to strike Tehran in response to the shelling from Iran after the ceasefire was announced.
