China called the US strikes on Iran's facilities a threat to nuclear nonproliferation
The US attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities pose a threat to the international nuclear nonproliferation regime. This was stated on June 24 by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"The attack by American military aircraft on Iran's nuclear facilities, which are under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has set a bad precedent and jeopardized the international nuclear nonproliferation system," he said on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Yi stressed that China opposes the use of force to resolve disputes and supports dialogue and adherence to international law.
The diplomat added that China is in contact with Iran, Israel and other parties in order to achieve a real ceasefire.
On June 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, said that the attacks on Iran were an unprovoked aggression that had no justification. He added that against the background of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, the Russian side is making efforts to assist the Iranian people.
