Maduro proposed to convene a summit against the war in the Middle East

An international peace summit should be convened to counter the escalation between Iran and Israel. This initiative was launched on June 23 by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
"I propose urgently, with the greatest respect, to convene a summit for peace and against war in order to counter the growing threat of conflict that could plunge humanity into the abyss of nuclear war," the text of the appeal is quoted in the Telegram channel of Venezuelan Minister of Communications and Information Freddy Nianes.
It is specified that the meeting should be organized on the territory of one of the states of the Middle East. The event should be supported by the League of Arab States (LAS), the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and BRICS, as well as Russia, China and the countries of the Global South.
On the same day, it was reported about Israel's desire to end the conflict with Iran. It clarifies that Israel is leaning towards such a decision, since the US strikes on the Iranian uranium enrichment facility at Fordo are expected to "cause significant damage."
