Qatar has closed its airspace

The Qatari authorities are temporarily closing the country's airspace. This was announced on June 23 by the Qatari Foreign Ministry.

"The competent authorities of Qatar announce the temporary suspension of air traffic in the country's airspace," the agency said in a statement on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It clarifies that measures are being taken for the sake of the safety of the country's citizens and guests of the state.

The head of the republic's Foreign Ministry met with the Russian president in Moscow on June 23.

Earlier in the day, Iran extended the closure of its airspace. The restrictive measures will last until 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
