The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation clarified the number of victims of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall

As a result of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, 149 people were killed and 609 injured. This was announced on June 23 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

"As a result of the terrorist act, 149 people were killed, one was missing, 609 citizens were injured and injured in various degrees of severity," she said.

Petrenko added that the total damage from the attack amounted to about 6 billion rubles.

According to the official representative of the Investigative Committee, preparations for the terrorist attack began in a few months. Some of the defendants in the criminal case arrived in Russia from abroad after undergoing training, while others were in Russia and engaged in organizing a terrorist attack and reworking firearms for militants.

"After the crime was committed, its perpetrators tried to escape to Ukraine, but were detained in the Bryansk region and taken to Moscow," Petrenko added.

She said that some accomplices of the terrorists had received instructions from the organizers to leave the territory of Russia, but were detained while trying to cross the border.

At least 27 defendants are involved in the case of the terrorist attack on March 22, 2024.

Earlier that day, Petrenko announced that the Investigative Committee had completed the investigation of the criminal case of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. The criminal case against 19 defendants has been sent to the prosecutor for transfer to the court.

On May 20, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, announced that over 2.3 thousand people were victims of the criminal case of the terrorist attack in Crocus. He stressed that to date, 19 people involved in the crime have been detained.

The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall took place on March 22, 2024. Terrorists in camouflage broke into the building, they started shooting and set fire to the concert hall. On March 3, Bastrykin announced the completion of investigative actions in the criminal case of the terrorist attack in less than a year. It was clarified that the defendants and their defenders are currently completing their review of the case file.
