Ten forest fires on an area of 2.1 hectares were eliminated in Buryatia


In the Republic of Buryatia, 10 forest fires with a total area of 2.1 hectares have been eliminated, and the area of active ignition in the region currently stands at 49.4 hectares. This was announced on June 23 by the forestry Agency for the region.
"10 forest fires have been eliminated: in Bauntovsky, Evenki, Yeravninsky, Zaigraevsky, Kizhinginsky, Kyakhtinsky, Tarbagataysky, Tunkinsky districts, covering an area of 2.1 hectares," the Telegram channel said.
It is specified that in three cases the cause of the fire was careless handling of fire, the remaining seven foci occurred due to a lightning strike.
According to the agency's operational data, as of the morning of June 23, 39 forest fires are active in Buryatia, which are located in the Barguzinsky, Bauntovsky, Evenki, Yeravninsky, Tarbagataysky, Ivolginsky, Kizhinginsky, Muisky, Pribaikalsky, Severobaikalsky, Selenginsky and Tunkinsky districts.
813 people and 135 pieces of equipment are involved in the elimination of fires. The press service noted that there is no threat to settlements.
On June 22, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the area of a forest fire near the village of Atamanovka in the Trans-Baikal Territory reached 350 hectares. 152 people were involved in extinguishing a powerful fire, 26 pieces of equipment were involved, including an Mi-8 helicopter, an Il-76 aircraft and two Be-200ChS aircraft.
