This year, more than 3,500 protocols have been issued for non-compliance with fire safety rules in forests, said the head of the Federal Forestry Agency, Ivan Advisers, in an interview with Izvestia during SPIEF 2025.

The total amount of fines under all protocols amounted to almost 40 million rubles, he added.

"We don't have a task to fine anyone. Our task is to ensure that there is no fire in the forest, there are no fires. We are working for this, not for fines," Ivan Sovetnikov said.

Since this year, according to him, those responsible for fires have been actively collecting not only fines, but also our expenses for extinguishing and repairing damage.

"That is, the figures will, of course, be completely different. I think even the information that we are collecting damages has made people think more about it and break the rules less," Ivan Advisers emphasized.

In the spring of this year alone, the area covered by the fire amounted, according to him, to almost 3 million hectares.
