The cost of bitcoin on Sunday, June 22, dropped below the $100,000 mark for the first time since May 8. This is evidenced by data from the Binance cryptocurrency exchange.

As of 17:21 Moscow time, the exchange rate of the main cryptocurrency decreased by 3.5% and amounted to $99,975. A few minutes later, by 17:25 Moscow time, the fall accelerated — bitcoin was trading at $99,582, losing 3.8%.

By 19:55 Moscow time, the cost of bitcoin is $99,450.

On May 21, Fyodor Sidorov, the founder of the School of Practical Investing, said that the growth of the bitcoin exchange rate is taking place against the background of changes in geopolitics and the global currency system. The expert noted that bitcoin has become an element of geopolitical diversification in an environment where "the dollar is facing pressure due to the US budget deficit." He added that against this background, large investors are transferring part of their reserves to crypto assets.
