The United States intends to work in the coming years to completely dismantle Iran's nuclear program. This was announced on June 22 by American Vice President Jay Dee Vance in an interview with NBC News.

"Now, in the coming years, we will work to completely dismantle their nuclear program. That is exactly what the President [of the United States Donald Trump] intends to do. The principle is simple — it is impossible for Iran to get nuclear weapons," he said.

Vance stressed that the US strikes have significantly slowed down Iran's nuclear program. According to him, Washington is ready to develop peaceful relations with Tehran if the Islamic Republic abandons its nuclear projects.

Earlier in the day, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth said that the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities was not carried out for the sake of overthrowing power in the Islamic Republic. He noted that the strikes were authorized by Trump only in order to neutralize the threat that the Iranian nuclear program allegedly poses to the United States and Israel.

On June 22, US President Donald Trump announced that the US attack was aimed at three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. According to Trump, the operation was successful. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that American strikes could change history.
