In telephone conversations with representatives of the White House administration, the Israeli side noted its unwillingness to wait two weeks before concluding a deal between Washington and Tehran. This was reported on June 21 by the Reuters news agency, citing unnamed Israeli officials.

"Israeli officials have indicated <...> that they do not want to wait two weeks for Iran to reach an agreement on the exclusion of key elements from its nuclear program, and Israel can act alone," the publication says.

It is noted that the "tense" conversation was held as part of discussions on possible US intervention in the Iran-Israel conflict. In addition, Israeli representatives said they intend to strike at the Fordo nuclear facility before the two weeks that American leader Donald Trump has left to make a decision on US participation in the Iran-Israel conflict expire.

On June 20, the head of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, announced Israel's preparations for a protracted military campaign against Iran. Later, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance noted on June 21 that Trump gives priority to diplomacy in resolving the Iranian issue, "as long as he believes that there is such an opportunity."
