- Vilfand predicted rain and thunderstorms in four districts of the Russian Federation in the coming days

Heavy rain, thunderstorms and wind are expected in the regions of the Southern, Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts in the coming days. This was announced on June 21 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
"Due to the passage of the frontal sections, a very difficult situation is predicted in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, where thunderstorms and rain are expected. Rain with thunderstorms and winds up to 25 m/s are possible in the Chelyabinsk region over the weekend. Heavy and prolonged rain will fall in the south of the Sverdlovsk Region over the weekend, and water levels in rivers will rise. The situation is similar in the Kurgan region: heavy and prolonged rain, thunderstorms. The situation is similar in the south of Tyumen, that is, the entire Ural Federal District will be in a difficult meteorological situation," he said in an interview with TASS.
Vilfand said that heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail and winds of 25 m/s are forecast for Krasnodar Territory and Crimea on Saturday, June 21. In Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo regions and the Altai Territory, hot but unstable weather over the weekend will cause "spotty" precipitation. Thunderstorms, hail and winds up to 25 m/s are possible during the weekend.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Primorsky Territory in the coming days, and wind gusts may reach 27 m/s. Heavy rain is expected in the Amur region on June 21, with wind speeds of up to 20 m/s, the expert noted.
"There will also be heavy rain on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, and water will rise on the rivers. The wind is calming down in Chukotka, in Pevek it will be up to 33 m/s. This is a hurricane—force wind, but earlier the gusts were even stronger and amounted to 40 m/s," the meteorologist concluded.
The Hydrometeorological Center predicted partly cloudy weather, short-term rain and up to +18 degrees in the metropolitan region on Saturday, June 21. The air temperature in Moscow is expected to range from +16 to +18 degrees during the day, and at night the thermometer will drop to +6. In the Moscow region, it will be from +14 to +19 degrees during the day, and up to +4 degrees at night.
