Forecaster Shuvalov denied reports of an abnormal cold snap in Moscow

The decrease in temperature in Moscow is not an anomaly and fits within the framework of the climatic norm. This was announced by the head of the forecasting center "Meteo" Alexander Shuvalov.

In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, June 20, he noted that the decrease in temperature in June is a natural climatic fluctuation.

"In fact, all these messages are just to draw attention to the weather. But there is nothing supernatural or unusual about it," he noted.

According to the forecaster, until recently, the June temperature in Moscow exceeded the norm by 1.4 degrees, and the current decrease of 2-4 degrees remains within acceptable fluctuations.

He added that in other regions — for example, in Siberia and Western Europe — the heat is now up to +35 degrees, while in the center of Russia there is a temporary "dip" in temperature.

Earlier on June 20, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told NSN that this weekend, on June 21-22, the temperature in Moscow would not exceed +18 degrees. Currently, the temperature in Moscow is four degrees below normal, and this situation will last until the end of the week, writes RT.

On the same day, meteorologist Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said that Sunday in Moscow could become the coldest on June 22 since 1983, the Moscow City News agency reports. Daytime temperature will not rise above +13....15 degrees.
