Romanian President appoints former acting head of state as Prime Minister

On June 20, Romanian President Nicusor Dan announced the appointment of former acting head of state Ilie Bolojan as Prime Minister.
"I am appointing Ilie Bolojan as prime minister. <...> It is in Romania's interests that the government be supported by a solid majority, and the parties understand this," Dan said in a video message posted on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Earlier, on May 27, former Romanian presidential candidate George Simion, who lost the election, stated the need for deep political changes in the state. He believes that the country is led by "puppets" mired in corruption and incapable even of public speaking.
