Shakespeare's sonnets were performed during the "Evenings in the English Hall" at the House of Music

On June 19, the St. Petersburg House of Music hosted a musical and poetic evening "Beauty is given to you by nature..." as part of the "Evenings in the English Hall" cycle.

Selected sonnets by Shakespeare were performed in the English Hall of the Alekseevsky Palace this evening.

Sergey Roldugin, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, artistic director of the St. Petersburg House of Music, performed cello sonatas, and Andrey Telkov, a laureate of international competitions, played the piano part. The reader was Nikolai Burov, People's Artist of Russia.

"Evenings in the English Hall" is a series of chamber concerts by the St. Petersburg House of Music. Thanks to the abundant sculpting and wood carvings that adorn the English Hall of the Alekseevsky Palace, it has excellent acoustics.

On June 4, the St. Petersburg House of Music hosted a concert of the "Evenings in the English Hall" cycle with the participation of oboist Fyodor Osver, winner of the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition, winner of the Prague Spring International Competition.
