There is a massive construction of housing and infrastructure facilities in the Kherson region, and the regional authorities see potential in the placement of sanatoriums in the left-bank part of the region. The governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, told Izvestia on June 19 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Today there is a massive construction and repair of the road infrastructure in the Kherson region. And all this in the context of a special military operation. The coastal strip of the region is very attractive. Some of the land has already been allocated for the construction of multi-family housing and individual housing construction, because many of those who are now coming from other regions of our large Homeland want to stay. But we need living conditions. And the urban potential in the Kherson region is huge," said Baldo.

According to the governor, the right bank of the Kherson region will certainly prosper after liberation. However, in the current reality, the left bank has a greater development potential. He noted that these territories are very convenient for resort and sanatorium recreation, as well as for recreation on the coasts of the Azov and Black Seas with beautiful white sand and beaches. Because of this, the potential of the left bank is focused on the development of the agro-industrial complex and the transit route, because the Kherson region is connected by land with the Crimea.

According to Baldo, there has already been a significant increase in the flow of tourists passing through the Kherson region to Crimea. This is a good option for travelers, given that it is difficult for anyone to get to the resort via the Crimean Bridge. The road from Rostov to Crimea is in excellent condition, and a well-developed air defense system ensures security.

"How can people in conditions of constant shelling not leave their homes, and farmers continue to work in the fields when [unmanned aerial vehicles] UAVs fly over them, which can cause damage? Of course, it is impossible to say that we have absolute security. But given that the technologies for countering all aircraft are increasingly being improved, the sky is covered quite tightly. We have a well—developed air defense system that works and covers Crimea, among other things," said Saldo.

He also invited Russians to visit the region. According to him, there are many fruits at good prices from producers in the Kherson region. Thus, according to the calculations of the head of the region, prices for seasonal fruits in the Kherson region are 15-20% lower than in Crimea and Moscow.

"We have only one prospect — to live in a big, friendly, beautiful family, in a developing and strong one. Everyone who lives in the Kherson region, and everyone who comes here, will receive a flourishing land. It will be a beautiful place to live and relax. After all, Catherine II and Prince Potemkin conceived this region as the southern gateway of Russia. So they will be like that for both leisure and trade. They will be constantly developing," the governor concluded.

On the same day, Baldo said that this summer there has been an increase in the flow of tourists who come to Crimea through the Kherson region. He also stressed that the construction of a two-lane four-lane highway "Azov Ring" will begin in the near future.
