This summer, there has been an increase in the flow of tourists who come to Crimea through the Kherson region. The governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, announced this to Izvestia on June 19 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"There is an increase, and a significant increase, because it is simply impossible for anyone to pass through the Crimean Bridge alone. It's just that people didn't know before that it was possible to drive through the Kherson region to the Crimea. Now more and more people are learning about it," he said.

At the same time, he clarified that absolute security in the region cannot be called. According to the governor, people continue to live in the Kherson region, return to their homes, and farmers continue to work in the fields when drones fly in the sky, as technologies for countering drones are increasingly being improved in Russia.

Saldo stressed that the Russian Federation has a very well-developed air defense system, which operates and covers Crimea, among other things. For the most part, the missiles are defused, he said. In particular, the governor noted the excellent condition of the repaired road located before crossing the border with Crimea from Rostov.

In addition, the head of the Kherson region stressed that in the near future the construction of a two-lane four-lane highway "Azov Ring" will begin.

In particular, Baldo noted that a large influx of tourists usually raises prices for products. According to him, usually the main supplier of fruits and berries was the Kherson region. At the same time, the governor noted that for eight years it had not been possible for Kherson agrarians to import their products.

"Just recently, the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, and I said that as soon as the opportunities opened up and Kherson residents began to transport their products to the whole of greater Russia, and we forgot about Crimea a little bit and prices began to rise by the summer season, we organized fairs and thus made it possible to stabilize prices specifically for agricultural products there, in Crimea," he added.

On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Crimea a unique region of the country due to its climate, natural features, wealth and sea air. He stressed that the healing sea air passing through almost the entire territory of the peninsula is of great importance for the climate.
