Bakanov announced the start of the national space exploration project

Roscosmos has started fulfilling the tasks stipulated by the national space exploration project. This was announced on June 18 by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

He recalled that the project was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and National Projects. Bakanov noted that the corporation has already moved on to the practical implementation of the plan.

"We have made all the plans, now they will ask us for the execution," Bakanov said, quoted by TASS.

Earlier on June 13, Bakanov said that Russia plans to deploy the first nuclear power plant on the moon. He also called the Russian space movement the epitome of national strength.
