One of the possible consequences of US intervention in the conflict between Iran and Israel could be the use of nuclear weapons by Tel Aviv. On June 18, political scientist, retired Lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen, told Izvestia about this.

"They have already bogged down and exhausted the Europeans and themselves because of Ukraine. I think this is another mistake, another trap for them. But that's what Israel wants. And the United States, I think, in the end, unfortunately, will be involved directly," the expert said.

According to him, there are many people around the American leader Donald Trump who have long wanted a direct conflict with Iran, even though it is not in the interests of the US president.

"We also see the rhetoric: although they supposedly want to eliminate the entire nuclear program, not just weapons, they say: "We have to stop them from building a bomb," Rasmussen pointed out.

The Axios news agency reported on June 17 that Trump, along with his team, is considering the possibility of a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities. It was noted that he met with his national security team at the White House to make a decision on US policy regarding the conflict between Israel and Iran.
