Metropolitan motorists should be careful when driving due to rain and thunderstorms. The press service of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development reported this on Tuesday, June 17, with reference to the Traffic Management Center (TSODD).

"According to forecasters, there will be rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds of up to 15 m/s in the city until tonight," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message as saying.

Drivers were asked to observe the speed limit and distance, as well as not to be distracted by the phone while driving.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Hydrometeorological Service warned that thunderstorms and strong winds with gusts up to 15 m/s are expected in the capital until 21:00 on Tuesday, writes Moscow 24.

In turn, rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that in case of bad weather it is necessary to close windows in houses, clean balconies and disconnect electrical appliances from sockets. Motorists were advised to use low beam, reduce speed as much as possible and increase the distance when traveling. In addition, cars should also not be parked near power lines, billboards and trees, writes RIAMO.

Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading expert at Meteonosti, told Izvestia on June 16 that cyclones would continue to determine the weather in Moscow next week, which would ensure daily precipitation and a gradual decrease in temperature.
