- The Russian Foreign Ministry urged Russians in Iran and Israel not to approach military facilities.

Russian citizens who are located in Iran or Israel should not approach government and military facilities, as well as be in crowded places. This was announced on June 16 by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The Russian Foreign Ministry recommends that Russian citizens staying in Iran and Israel exercise maximum caution and take personal security measures: do not approach military and other government facilities (do not take photos or videos), and avoid crowded places," the press service said.
In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Russians can leave Iran through the Astara border crossing, which is located on the border with Azerbaijan, and they can leave Israel through the Menachem Begin checkpoints in Egypt and Sheikh Hussein in Jordan.
The Russian ministry also noted that the border with Iran is currently closed in Azerbaijan. To use the checkpoint, citizens need to contact the Russian Embassy in Tehran.
On the same day, the Iranian Ministry of Health reported 1.8 thousand casualties as a result of Israeli strikes. The head of the department, Mohammad Reza Zafargandi, added that there are 60 women among the victims. He clarified that 35 women and 10 children were killed as a result of the Israeli strikes.
Israel struck Iran on June 13 and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
