Eight Iranian soldiers were killed in an Israeli strike on the city of Khomein

Six fighters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and two members of the Basij militia were killed in an Israeli strike on the city of Khomein, located in western Iran. This was reported on June 16 by the ISNA news agency with reference to the IRGC.
"This attack, which was carried out with the aim of sowing fear and panic among people and violating the security of the city of Khomein, was repelled and neutralized by timely and decisive efforts and actions of the IRGC," the agency's Telegram channel says.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian YJC news agency reported that 10 soldiers from the IRGC air defense forces were killed in northwestern Iran when repelling an Israeli air attack.
On June 13, Israel attacked Iran and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
