- Trump called on ICE to step up the deportation of illegal migrants from the United States
US President Donald Trump has called on ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) to step up the deportation of illegal migrants from major cities of the country. The corresponding statement was published on June 16 on his page on the Truth Social social network.
"We must step up efforts to detain and deport illegal immigrants in America's largest cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, where millions of illegal immigrants live," Trump wrote.
According to the American leader, these cities are the center of power of the Democratic Party, which uses illegal migrants to expand its voter base and electoral fraud. Trump stressed that by these actions they are taking away jobs and benefits from American citizens.
Mass protests in California began after a police raid to identify illegal migrants, during which 45 people were detained. On June 8, Trump ordered the National Guard to be sent to the state to stop the riots, which was condemned by the governors of 22 states, regarding it as an "abuse of power."
