An Israeli airstrike in Zanjan province in northwestern Iran killed two soldiers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This was reported by Tasnim news agency on June 16.

"Two soldiers were killed as a result of an Israeli attack on the province of Zanjan," the newspaper wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that one of the victims was the commander of the troops of the Ijrud district.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the number of victims of Iran's strike on the Gush Dan agglomeration increased to 103 people.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
