- The media learned about the removal of the families of British diplomats from Iran before the Israeli strike

Shortly before the start of the Israeli attack on Iran, the United Kingdom evacuated the families of its diplomats from the Islamic Republic. This was reported on June 15 by The Telegraph newspaper, citing sources.
"Although the diplomats remain [in Iran], it is known that their family members left the country at the same time as the evacuation of some American officials shortly before the Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities," the newspaper reports.
It is clarified that at the same time, the employees of the diplomatic department themselves continue to remain in the country. Historically, the British Embassy has been an "important asset" because it has been used to transfer information and communications between the United States and Iran, as the United States does not have its own embassy or official representative office in the Islamic Republic, the publication notes.
"It is assumed that government officials expected the diplomatic situation between Iran and Israel to worsen even before the strikes," the article says.
On June 15, it became known that US President Donald Trump blocked Israel's plan to eliminate Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not confirm the information about Trump's ban on the elimination of Khamenei.
On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
