The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has recommended that citizens of the country refrain from traveling to Iran and Israel amid the escalation of the conflict. The corresponding statement was published on the agency's website on June 15.

"The Russian Ministry of Economic Development recommends that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel for tourist purposes until the situation normalizes," the publication says.

In addition, tourists from the Russian Federation who are in the conflict zone were advised to be careful in their actions and movements, as well as to monitor official communications from local authorities.

Russian tour operators, in turn, were called upon to suspend the sale of travel products and certain services to Israel and the Islamic Republic until the situation in the regions normalizes.

"It is mandatory to inform Russian tourists who have concluded and/or plan to conclude agreements on the sale of tourist products to these destinations about the current situation in them," the MAYOR added.

The day before, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, condemned Israel's operation against Tehran. He also stressed Moscow's readiness to help resolve the situation around the Iranian nuclear program and de-escalate the conflict between the parties.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. In this regard, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Peseshkian and the Israeli Prime Minister. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow condemns Israel's actions and drew attention to the importance of returning to the negotiation process on the Iranian nuclear program.
