- Radiation monitoring introduced in Dagestan against the background of the situation in Iran

Radiation monitoring has been introduced in the southern part of Dagestan against the background of Israeli attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. This was reported on June 14 in the press service of the Rospotrebnadzor office in the republic.
"Daily monitoring is carried out every two hours and is aimed at assessing the risks associated with the accident at the uranium enrichment center in the city of Natanz," the agency's Telegram channel says.
According to the monitoring data carried out in the city of Derbent, the radiation situation in the republic remains stable. In addition, there was no excess of the natural gamma background of the area.
The ministry clarified that the monitoring of the radiation situation continues.
The day before, Behrouz Kamalvandi, a representative of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), said that a leak of radioactive substances at the Iranian nuclear facility occurred in Natanz as a result of an Israeli strike on Iran.
On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks.
