Against the background of the escalation in the Middle East, the Bilderberg Club is holding another closed meeting, the community hopes to exert a manipulative influence on world events. Harley Schlanger, a German political scientist and vice president of the Schiller Institute, told Izvestia on June 14.

"The point is to coordinate policy. But there is also an element of strangeness in this — the idea that a self—appointed elite will meet and build a strategy for the West, for the Euro-Atlantic region," he said.

According to the expert, the club members try to anticipate the development of events, develop a plan and impose their point of view on the rest of the world.

"Their understanding of the European-American dialogue is [questions of] how to send more weapons to Ukraine and how to destabilize Russia," the political scientist stressed.

The purpose of the club's conferences, Schlanger continued, is to bring together people with money and power and agree on an agenda that includes political pressure and an obstacle to the normalization of relations between Russia and the United States.

"We are in the Larouche organization (Lyndon LaRouche is an American politician and economist. We have always believed that the Bilderberg Club is a structure that adheres to the idea that there are too many people in the world. They are a classic example of British Malthusianism. They're not just saying that the world's population is too large, they're trying to do something about it. Namely, to increase the death rate," the expert concluded.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the task of the military operation attacks on the Iranian nuclear infrastructure.

In response, Iran launched several waves of missile attacks. The Mehr news agency reported on June 14 that Tehran had threatened Britain, France and the United States with attacks on their facilities in the Middle East if Israel helped repel the attacks.
