Iran's attack on the city of Rishon Lezion, located south of Tel Aviv, was an extremely grave event and devastation. This was announced on June 14 by the mayor of the city, Raz Kinstlich.

"It's a very difficult morning for our city. Any military operation is a test, but such destruction, such devastation. I've seen a lot before, but there's nothing like it. These are extremely difficult events," he said in a video message to residents posted on Facebook (owned by the extremist Meta company recognized in Russia, its activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).

He stressed that the local authorities are monitoring the situation, and security services are working on the spot. The mayor also urged the population not to ignore the instructions of the rear command and go to shelter in case of a threat.

Earlier in the day, Izvestia correspondent Nikita Kulyukhin showed the consequences of an Iranian ballistic missile landing on the territory of Rishon Lezion. Many houses were destroyed, and local residents were able to escape, taking refuge in the bomb shelters of their housing developments.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
