The Iranian Armed Forces have destroyed Israeli reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near the town of Selmas, located on the border with Turkey. This was reported on June 14 by Al Jazeera TV channel with reference to the State Television of the Islamic Republic.

"[Iranian forces] in the Selmas border area successfully shot down Israeli drones that violated the country's airspace," the article says.

According to media reports, the drones entered Iranian airspace for the purpose of espionage and reconnaissance. It is noted that the Israeli drones carried out a reconnaissance mission over the north-west of Iran.

Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the beginning of the fourth wave of Iran's missile attack. Later, the Islamic Republic fired three volleys of rockets at Israel within 15 minutes. According to the latest data, 70 people were injured as a result of Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the task of the military operation attacks on the Iranian nuclear infrastructure.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Peseshkian and Netanyahu and stressed that the Russian side condemns Israel's actions and will contribute to de-escalating the conflict between the parties.
