There are staged elements in the escalation between Israel and Iran. Candidate of Historical Sciences, political scientist Stanislav Tarasov told Izvestia about this on June 14.

"There are a lot of staged elements in the current armed—type confrontation between Israel and Iran," he said.

As the expert noted, the strike took place after the completion of the fifth round and on the eve of the sixth round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on the nuclear deal.

Prior to this, American leader Donald Trump had warned of the threat of attacks on Iran's nuclear infrastructure. The Islamic Republic, in turn, reported taking countermeasures against such attempts.

"That is, everything was expected," the political scientist said.

On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. Later, the Islamic Republic launched about 150-200 retaliatory missile strikes. As a result, 63 people were injured, and another 300 Israelis were evacuated.

On June 14, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the beginning of the fourth wave of Iran's missile attack. Later, the Ynet portal reported that Iran fired three volleys of rockets at Israel in 15 minutes.
