The Canadian Foreign Ministry urged citizens to leave the countries of the Middle East region if possible. This was reported by the Globe and Mail newspaper on Saturday, June 14.

In a statement, the Department of Global Affairs urged "Canadians in the Middle East to ensure that their travel documents are valid and to leave the country using commercial options if it is safe to do so," the newspaper said.

According to Global Affairs, the list of Canadians abroad includes 76.7 thousand citizens in the Middle East, including 1.6 thousand in Iran and 5.7 thousand in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Ottawa said it had not received reports of injuries or deaths of Canadians as of Friday as a result of the escalating tensions.

Earlier in the day, the IDF announced the beginning of the fourth wave of Iran's missile attack.

Prior to that, on June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency. Later, the Islamic Republic launched about 150-200 retaliatory missile strikes. As a result, 63 people were injured, and another 300 Israelis were evacuated.
