The media reported on the work of air defense in Tehran
The Air Defense Forces are operating in the center and northeast of Tehran. This was reported on June 13 by the Fars news agency in the Telegram channel.
According to the newspaper, earlier "bright objects" were seen in the sky above the city.
In addition, according to the Mehr news agency, the sounds of explosions can be heard in the cities of Karaj and Mohammadshahr in Alborz province.
Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile factories. He called the beginning of the operation a success.
According to Fars, at least 78 people were killed and 329 injured in Israeli strikes on residential areas of Tehran. Another 18 people were killed in attacks on the province of East Azerbaijan.
The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's unprovoked attack and pointed out that the state violated the UN Charter by its move. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that Russia is concerned and condemns the sharp escalation of tension between Israel and Iran.
