The Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned the Swiss ambassador representing US interests in Tehran in connection with Washington's support for Israeli strikes. This was reported by Tasnim news agency on June 13.

"After gross violations <...> the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Iran <...> the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran, Nadine Lozano, was summoned by Assistant Foreign Minister Issa Kameli," the newspaper writes.

It is noted that a strong protest was expressed to the representative of American interests in Tehran because of the Israeli strikes on Iran and the US support for these attacks.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

According to the Fars news agency, at least 78 people were killed and 329 injured as a result of Israeli attacks on residential areas of Tehran.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli attack and pointed out that the state violated the UN Charter by its move. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that Russia is concerned and condemns the sharp escalation of tension between Israel and Iran.
