Only after the artists of the state Academic Honored dance Ensemble of Dagestan "Lezginka" finished performing at the Festival of Russian Culture in Iran, they went back to Russia. Djambulat Magomedov, the general director of the ensemble, told Izvestia on June 13.

As Magomedov noted, the ensemble's program was presented at the concert in full.

"When the airspace was actually closed, they found an opportunity to send the Lezginka home. We are all alive and well. We flew home. <...> We worked out the entire program <...>, thousands of Iranians attended our performance," the CEO said.

He also expressed the support of the Iranian people.

The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation announced on the same day that the musicians of the Grand Symphony Orchestra and the State Academic Honored Dance Ensemble "Lezginka" were in Iran. At that time, it was clarified that due to airspace restrictions, creative teams could not leave the Islamic Republic.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia condemned the sharp escalation of tension between Israel and Iran. In addition, he said that Russian President Vladimir Putin receives online reports on the events that are taking place between the two countries.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile factories. He called the beginning of the operation a success.

According to the Fars news agency, at least 78 people were killed and 329 injured in Israeli strikes on residential areas of Tehran.
