Germany's supply of cruise missiles to Kiev may cause an armed clash between Russia and Germany. This was announced on June 12 by a member of the State Duma Committee on Security, Adalbi Shkhagoshev.

"The Bundestag is heterogeneous in its views, while it is useful for many of its members to be reminded that Germany, responsible for unleashing World War II, is also responsible for the supply of German missiles (including long-range cruise missiles Taurus). Kiev," RIA Novosti quoted the deputy as saying.

On the eve of the State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin sent a letter to the chairman of the Bundestag Julia Kleckner, in which he noted that Germany's transfer of weapons to Ukraine, which is used, among other things, against civilians, is in itself the reason for the conflict between the Russian Federation and Germany.

"Volodin spoke about this, among other things, in his message reflecting today's political realities. One of these realities is the prospect of a direct armed clash between Russia and Germany over the supply of missiles," Shkhagoshev said.

Earlier on June 12, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kiev on an unannounced visit. According to the DPA news agency, he intends to get acquainted with the situation on the ground and discuss with the leadership of Ukraine the provision of new military assistance to it.

On June 5, US President Donald Trump held talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the White House. After the meeting, the German Chancellor said that the country would depend on the United States for a long time. The New York Times (NYT) newspaper noted and wrote that Merz's mission to attract Trump to support Ukraine had failed.
