In the west of Ukraine, in Kremenets, Ternopil region, employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, analogues of military enlistment offices in Ukraine) forcibly detained Archimandrite Paphnutius, rector of the Pochaev Holy Spirit Monastery, a skete of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). This was reported on June 11 in the Telegram channel of the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).

The abbot was detained immediately after the end of the court session, which is going against the monastery. He was taken to the Ternopil shopping mall.

"Father Paphnutius has been abbot of the Holy Spirit Skete for more than 28 years. He took over the Pochaev monastery in 1997 in a building destroyed after the USSR," the message says.

Earlier, on January 27, it was reported about the detention of the vicar of the UOC monastery in the Kharkiv region, Archimandrite Bogdan, by the staff of the Shopping mall. They also tried to "hand him over" to military units.
